Mr. Hansen will be discussing the harrowing events of EVA 23, a serious incident that occurred on the International Space Station during a spacewalk in July of 2013. He will share details of the event and lessons learned from the investigation that can be applied to many areas of life here on Earth. Ideas related to complacency, the need to speak up, the need to question the status quo, diversity of thought, and challenging assumptions will be discussed.

Recruiting and keeping top employees is a top challenge for any organization. However, human service companies, and particularly clinical ABA service providers particularly struggle with keeping staff. This workshop will provide a hands-on experience to walk leaders through tools and techniques to help measure, understand, and improve staff retention. Participants will appropriate methods for data collection and measurement to help benchmark retention rates. Then participants will develop methods to improve retention in their organization, focusing specifically on recruitment, and leadership practices. This workshop is intended for individuals in middle to senior level management positions.

Chris Hansen
Mr. Hansen joined NASA at the Johnson Space Center as a Co-operative Education Student in 1991 where he worked on several projects as a structural analyst and designer. After graduating from the University of California at Irvine in 1993 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, he joined NASA full-time where he worked as a structural analyst for projects including the Shuttle Plume Impingement Flight Experiment and the Space Shuttle Lightweight Seats project. He then went on to lead early landing gear conceptual studies for the X-38 vehicle, performing conceptual design work and detailed landing dynamic analyses.
In 1999, Mr. Hansen earned a Masters of Mechanical Engineering degree from Rice University. He subsequently developed a resistive exercise device for the International Space Station (ISS), led a team that developed a structural prototype for a portable, inflatable hyperbaric chamber, and developed numerous smaller pieces of hardware for the Space Shuttle Program and the ISS Program. In 2000, Mr. Hansen became the Mechanical Systems Integration Lead for the International Space Station. In this role he led numerous anomaly resolution teams and was the NASA Chair of the Structures and Mechanisms Problem Resolution Team for ISS.
Mr. Hansen is also a member of the Organizing Committee for the Aerospace Mechanisms Symposium, an annual meeting dedicated to sharing lessons learned in the aerospace mechanisms industry. In 2007, Mr. Hansen became the Chief Engineer for the International Space Station, leading a talented team of technical experts dedicated to flying the International Space Station safely and successfully. In mid-2013, Mr. Hansen served as the Chairman of the Mishap Investigation Board which was appointed to investigate a dangerous incident that occurred during a spacewalk on board the International Space Station when water began flooding into the astronaut’s spacesuit helmet.
In 2014, Mr. Hansen was named as the Chief of the Crew and Thermal Systems Division which is responsible for the design and engineering of all of NASA’s spacesuits, life support systems, and man-rated thermal vacuum chambers. In 2015, he became the manager of the EVA Office, responsible for integrating all spacewalking activities for NASA. He grew up in Los Alamos, New Mexico.
Daniel Sundberg
Dan is co-owner and Director of People and Culture at Kendrick Realty. Kendrick is re-aligning the broker-realtor relationship by providing lead generation, extensive training, and support. Dan’s main role is to recruit, train, and support high performing agents, and foster a positive culture of high performance and fun. Dan accomplishes this by using evidence-based behavioral science techniques to train and coach agents to top performance.
Prior to joining Kendrick Realty, Dan worked as a corporate consultant for small businesses and Fortune 1000 enterprises alike. Dan had the opportunity to consult for a wide range of companies, from human services, education, and health care, to insurance, manufacturing, and banking. This work included coaching senior leaders, improving job process, and creating employee training and development programs.
Dan earned his PhD in Organizational Behavior Management from Western Michigan University, where he also taught courses on Organizational Psychology, and M.S. in OBM from Florida Institute of Technology. Dan earned his B.A. in Psychology from the University of California at Berkeley.
Dan is a published author and has served as University lecturer on Organizational Performance. Dan also serves as a guest editor for academic journals including the Journal of Organizational Behavior Management, and the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis. When he’s not working, Dan enjoys sailing and taking advantage of all the other outdoor activities California has to offer, and travels at every possible opportunity
Jennifer Dantzler
As the Founder & Executive Director of Including Kids Autism Center, Jennifer Dantzler, is an influential expert in her field. She founded Including Kids Autism Center in 2003 at a time when autism was reaching epidemic levels, and there were very few services offered for early intervention. Its mission is to provide evidence-based, behavior analytic interventions for persons with autism and related disabilities to maximize individual potential and to facilitate their meaningful inclusion in the community. Her professional awards include the 2008 Woman of Achievement in the Area of Human Services for Family Time Crisis & Counseling Center, 2011 Health Care Professional of the Year for The Lake Houston Area Chamber of Commerce, 2015 Best Buddies Champion of the Year, and most recently Jennifer was honored by Texas State Representative, Dan Huberty, proclaiming April 21st as Jennifer Dantzler Day in the state of Texas as appreciation for her work in the field of autism. She is currently active in ABASC (Applied Behavior Analysis Support Committee), a committee of Lone Star ABA and is the treasurer for TxABA OBM Special Interest Group.
Jennifer holds a Post Graduate Certificate of Autism from Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD, in addition to an M.S. Ed. in Intensive Special Needs from Simmons College, Boston, MA. She did her undergraduate work at American University, Washington, D.C. where she earned a B.A. in Elementary/Special Education. Jennifer is a Licensed Behavior Analyst and she is also certified in Special Education/Intensive Special Needs in Texas.
She is currently venturing into young adult services and speaks professionally at local and national conferences on a regular basis to help spread autism awareness, including The World Autism Organisation Conference and The Council of Autism Service Providers (CASP). The rate of autism continues to increase at an alarming rate and that need is what continues to drive her to do more, build more and want more for families with autism.
