Brief Description

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from billing specialists and healthcare attorneys who specialize in insurance issues related to Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) treatment.  Topics that will include: Texas laws, audits, recoupment, fraud and provider contract rights; coding and billing under the old and new codes; how to ensure that your documentation is adequate to respond to fraud claims, recoupment, audits and to support appeals and authorizations. 

Providers are welcome to attend the entire seminar. The final portion of the seminar (beginning at 1:15pm) will be open and geared toward parents, focusing on the law and the parents' role in working with their provider and insurer to ensure their child is able to access medically necessary treatment.

 8:30-9:00: Registration

9:00-10:00: Section 1: How to use your network contract and Texas law to respond to audits; retrospective reviews, recoupment, and fraud claims

10:00-11:00: Section 2: Billing and coding - how to submit claims, work through billing and coding issues, and properly bill/code to avoid disputes with Payors and maximize reimbursements

11:00-11:15: Break

11:15-12:15: Section 3: How do you document your files to protect your company from recoupments, denials, and support authorizations and appeals

12:15-1:15: Lunch-will be provided

1:15-2:15: Section 4: Parent Seminar (Providers are welcome to stay)- The Texas Autism Insurance Mandate and parent driven tips and tools to maximize insurance reimbursements

2:15-3:00: Q&A

Parking

The speakers will be presenting in "Sumners Hall" (See map).

There are parking spots in the Westheimer parking lot, there is a circle drive with parking spots on the River Oaks Blvd side . There is also parallel parking on RO Blvd after 9:00am, if you park earlier than that you can get a ticket/towed.

The Westheimer side parking lot has the most spots and should be the first go to for a parking spot.
